Bun in the Oven!

Bun in the oven indeed.
After countless hours of reading other blogs and debating on whether or not to start my own.. I figured, what's to lose? It's a wonderful way to track my pregnancy and share all of mine and Baby Welch's milestones.
So here it goes! Bare with me.. I'M NEW AT THIS!!

I always planned of having a super creative way to announce my pregnancy to my husband.. BUT my pregnancy was such a surprise it didn't really go as planned.
After I finally worked up the nerve to go and buy a test after two weeks of just feeling completely awful, I honestly didn't think I'd get a positive. I thought that I was just really tired and hadn't been able to catch up on sleep since we had just been on a vacation. To my surprise within seconds I got a plus. Just to double check I drank a TALL glass of water waited a half hour and tried again. Another positive.
Things going through my mind: EXCITEMENT, happiness, and a bit of panic.

I knew Shane would be home within the hour.. So I had no choice but to think quick on my feet. I knew I couldn't hold in all the excitement for a day or two to think up something creative. So what did I do? I turned to my trusty dry erase board that hangs on our fridge. We always write cute little love notes on it to each other when its not taken up with a mile-long grocery list. Being that fathers day had just past.. this is what I came up with.

Probably not the most creative way.. But I think it suited us just fine. And plus.. I was NERVOUS!!
Turns out he took a little bit longer to get home than I had initially anticipated but there was no turning back!
His first reaction: The BIGGEST most cutest grin ever!

Turns out I was 5 weeks pregnant when we found out. I am now 11 weeks!

Shane and I are SO SO excited for this new journey in our lives. Can't wait to share it with you..
Stay tuned...

  1. Good job on starting the blog! I look forward to reading more of it. I thought it was an extremely cute way to tell someone that they are a dad. It is quite precious.
